Paw Paw’s Song is the life and legacy of a man who started life as a sharecropper in the depression in 1920’s Alabama. An eighth-grade dropout, who became a Principal and Pastor with a Master’s degree, while raising a young family. His Godly influence and hard work lifted his family out of poverty. The legacy a Godly man can leave is far greater than just the sum of his years spent on earth.

Paw Paw's Song Copyright 2022 Josh Davis Just off the plane from Afghanistan, fighting wars in foreign lands He called me on my phone to say, I'm proud of you and welcome home to the USA He talked for awhile like Paw Paws do, I said so long and love you too I didn't know I just said goodbye to the man that taught me to be a man He taught me to hunt, taught me to fish taught me to shoot and how to live taught me the words, I need to say to raise my kids in a Godly way American born and raised, he loved this land, the USA I got the call in a few more days to let me know he had passed away My heart just sank again, I lost a paw paw and a friend I cried for awhile like grandson's do and said so long but I'll see you soon and that's the way I said goodbye to the man that taught me to be a man He taught me to hunt, taught me to fish taught me to shoot and how to live taught me the words, I need to say to raise my kids in a Godly way American born and raised, he loved this land, the USA One day I'll be on the phone, and tell my own son's welcome home And I pray that they will be just the men God called us to be I'll talk for awhile like daddy's do, say so long and I love you too Cause one day, they'll say goodbye to the man that taught them to be a man He taught me to hunt, taught me to fish taught me to shoot and how to live taught me the words, I need to say to raise my kids in a Godly way American born and raised, he loved this land, the USA
